MAGGIE FYNBOE £7.50
Reinermann '95 Dip 28" Mid/Late Dor 4.5"
This superb daylily is another one pictured in Diana's book. Described
as a gently recurved salmon apricot blend and green throat. It is well branched
and an early morning opener. This is another one we were picking scapes
from well into September.
MAGIC CARPET RIDE £9.50
Kirchhoff '93 Tet 28" Early/Mid Ev. 6"
Another well known garden stand out. The bloom is bright red with a coral/orange
watermark and a yellow/green throat which spreads onto the midribs. Cannot
be ignored. AM 1999
MARION CALDWELL £18.50
Pickles '00 Tet 26" Ear/Re SEv 4.5"
This is my first plant offered from the Pickles/Branch 2000 introductions.
I am pleased to say that I have them all here and they were much admired
in 2003. This one caused great interest in America in 2003. The bloom is
a rosy red with a darker halo and lighter watermark, cool lemon throat.
Repeats reliably here.
MARY'S GOLD £6.00
McDonnell '84 Tet 34" Mid Dor 6.5"
This is another really eye catching cultivar. A very popular variety,
a golden orange self with a green throat.
HM 1988, AM 1991.

MAY MAY £5.00
Hayward '76 Dip 30" Ear/Mid/Re SEv 3.5"
Funnily enough, for a very old daylily, this was one of the plants which
caused the most interest in the garden last year. It is a creamy yellow,
old trumpet form but has a good scent and was never out of bloom from early
June until September.
MOONLIGHT MIST £4.00
Hudson '82 Dip 18" Mid SEv. 3"
A beautiful blend of ivory and creamy pink, a full round ruffled bloom.
Very popular and almost sold out last year. Therefore a few only.

MORMON SPIDER £5.00
Robertson '82 Dip 28" Mid Dor 8.5"
Unusual form. Lightly ruffled bronze edged soft yellow with a green throat.
MOROCCO £10.00
Harris/Benz '87 Tet 30" Mid Dor 6"
There is a great picture of this in the Grosvenor book where it is described
as a plant which has not proven to be popular in Oz because of its colour.
I love it and it would seem that the garden visitors do too. It is a blend
of orange and bronze but the overall effect is of a subtle bronze beauty.
Rarely offered and not to be missed, my opinion.
MORRIE OTTE £10.00
E. Salter '94 Dip 18" Mid SEv. 2.5"
A very pretty mini. This is a mauve lavender bloom with a silver frost
washed eye on petals and sepals over a large yellow/green throat. Good branching
and reblooms.
DFM 2002.
MYNELLES STARFISH £6.00
Hayward '84 Dip 20" Mid Dor 10"
Another wonderful variety. Unusual form with star shaped ivory flowers
which are flat and huge. I have my plant in a tub as the scapes are quite
short and this enables me to get really close and look down at these stunning
blooms.
NATURAL VEIL £12.50
Morss '97 28" Mid/Re Ev 6"
A beautiful blend of creamy peach to lavender with a yellow halo and
yellow green throat. It has a flat ruffled form and is truly sumptuous.
New to the UK and rarely offered even in the States.
NAVAJO PRINCESS £9.00
Hansen '92 Dip 24" Mid/Late SEv. 4"
A very popular daylily of diamond dusted pale pink with a very large
dark rose eye pattern which extends well onto the petals. All complemented
by a green throat. Reliable rebloomer.
HM 1995
OBSIDIAN £9.00
Stamile '88 Tet 27" Mid Dor 4.5"
This is a truly impressive daylily for those who like them dark. It is
a real stand out in my purple border, described by the breeder as a black
self. What more can I say?
OLD TANGIERS £5.00
Millikan '85 Tet 28" Mid/Late SEv. 5"
Another garden stand out and one of Terry's all time favourites. You
can see where his colour preferences lie. There is a really good picture
of this in Diana's book. Well ruffled dark orange with a russet eye, yellow
throat and midribs, all set off by a tiny green throat.

PANDORA'S BOX £4.50
Talbott '82 Dip 19" Early/Mid Dor 4"
Although an old cultivar this is a real must have. It is a beautiful
small daylily with cream blooms and a striking purple eye zone set off by
a green throat. Another multi award winner.
PAPER BUTTERFLY £5.50
Morss '85. Tet 24" Early/Mid SEv. 6"
Another subtle blend of colours which I love. It has a pale peach flower
and an exotic patterned violet eye complemented by a yellow throat and green
heart. Reliable rebloomer and yet another multi award winner.
PENELOPE VESTEY £4.00
Coe '69 Dip 34" Early/Mid SEv. 5"
Beautiful diamond dusted melon pink with darker eye zone. Lots of lovely
trumpet shaped blooms. A real classic.
PINK COTTON CANDY £8.00
P. Stamile '91 Tet 23" Mid/Late Dor 5"
A very good clear pink with a strong red eye zone and a bright green
throat. Very pretty and floriferous.
PRAIRIE BELLE £4.50
Marsh '65 Dip 26" Mid SEv. 5.5"
This is a pretty daylily of rather triangular form, being a deep rose
pink with a wide contrasting band of silvery tan in hot weather.
AM 1971.
PRAIRIE BLUE EYES £5.00
Marsh '70 Dip 28" Mid SEv. 5"
This has proved a very popular cultivar for me considering its age and
the progress made in breeding these lovely blue/purples. The bloom is lavender
with a faint blue eye zone and lemon throat and I have to say that I love
it.
HM 1973, AM 1976.
PRINCESS BLUE EYES £5.00
Hite '80 Tet 26" Mid Dor. 5"
This is a cultivar that in my opinion is not given enough credit. It
is a lovely wine with a slightly bluer eye. Not one of the most modern now
but still a beauty.
PURE AND SIMPLE £10.00
Salter '94 Tet 26" Early/Mid SEv. 5.5"
Another of Terry's favourites. The form of this daylily is as near perfection
as it is possible to get and the colour is a glowing orange blend with a
dark green throat. On hot days a gold band may be apparent. This one surprised
me last year. Not one order from the catalogue in 2003, (perhaps it is the
colour, "not another orange one"), but sold lots when the garden
was open!
PURPLE RAIN £5.00
Chesnik '85 Dip 15" Early/Mid Dor 3"
A lovely small daylily of impeccable form. The colour is a deep plum
purple with a darker eye zone and green throat. Reliable rebloomer.
PURPLE RAIN DANCE £7.50
Brown '90 Dip 29" Early/Mid SEv. 5.5"
Beautiful deep purple blooms with green throat. If you like the darker
forms you'll love this. |
