RASPBERRY PIXIE £4.00
Williamson '69 Dip 12" Mid Evr 1.5"
This is a plant for anyone who loves the miniature form. It is a beautiful
rose blend and perfect for a tub or the front of the border.
RETURN TRIP £7.50
Loughry '92 Dip 18" Early/Mid Dor 3.5"
A friend of mine, (another daylily addict), told me that when you turn
50 you start to notice the brighter daylilies. This one would be impossible
to miss. It is a cinnamon red and yellow blend with a red eye. It seemed
to flower for the whole season and was a very rewarding bloom in my hot
border. Very rarely offered in the UK.
ROGER GROUNDS £8.50
King/Lamone '87 Dip 24" EarlyMid Dor 6"
Early blooming spider. One of my favourites and was featured during the
filming of Gardeners World. It does very well for me. Bright burgundy with
a green/yellow throat. Branched to give a good show.
RON ROUSSEAU £6.00
McKinney '69 Dip 22" EarlyMid/ Dor 6"
An unusual form and slightly fragrant. A crispate having folded petals
and recurved sepals of creamy yellow blend with rose tips. Dreamy.
ROUND MIDNIGHT £9.50
Mercer '92 Tet 30" Ear/Mid/Re Ev. 6"
For me this was one of the stars of my purple border. It is an intensely
blue purple self and repeated here all through the Autumn. I was still taking
scapes off it in October. Beautiful. Very limited.
SCARLET RIBBONS £5.50
Russell '59 Dip 30" Mid/Late Dor 7"
Star shaped crimson red spider form with green/gold throat and lighter
midribs. High bud count with 3 to 5 way branching. For such an old cultivar
rarely offered in this country and a very beautiful daylily.
SHERRY LANE CARR £12.50
Carr '93 Tet 23" Early/Mid Ev. 6"
If you haven't seen this you are in for a treat. The form is very wide
and slightly recurved. The colour is a yellow/apricot blend and the heavily
ruffled gold edge is apparent even in cooler climates. There is a high bud
count and it is a reliable rebloomer.
AM 2002
SHOTGUN £4.50
Warner '78 Tet 24" Early Ev. 3.5"
This was a real treat for me in 2003 as I have never seen it bloom before.
It was very early but no gall midge and a lovely blend of yellow with mahogany
which gave it a somewhat brownish overall effect. Another great old cultivar.

SILKEN TOUCH £10.00
Stamile '93 Tet 23" Early/Mid SEv. 6"
This is a very widely ruffled rose pink and one of the most highly regarded
of the earlier Stamile pinks. Takes a while to settle in but then produces
a large plant and generous show of exquisite blooms.
SILOAM ETHEL SMITH £5.00
Henry '81 Dip 20" Mid Dor 3.5"
This is a lovely pink beige with a deep rose eyezone. Again one for a
tub or nearer the front of the border.

Delicately ruffled shrimp pink, lightly marked with a deeper rose eye
finished off with a green gold throat.

and floriferous.
AM 1990
SILOAM QUEENS TOY £5.00
Henry '81 Dip 20" Mid Dor 3.5"
This is a good pink bloom with a deeper halo. Very compact and pretty
plant.

SMOKY MOUNTAIN AUTUMN £7.00
Guidry '86 Dip 18" Early/Re Dor 5.5"
This is one I get excited about every year. The colour is so unusual.
There is a really good picture of it in Diana's book. She describes it as
a "subtle lavender influenced smoky copper rose blend". It is
deeply ruffled and the most wonderful shape. I could go on for ever!
SNOWY APPARITION £6.00
Childs '80 Tet 30" Mid Dor. 6.5"
Near white with a green throat. The blooms are less open and are more
traditionally lily shaped but are large and presented on long scapes. Very
pretty.
SOMEPLACE SPECIAL £8.50
Sikes '90 Dip 25" Mid/Re SEv. 6"
Polypetals you either love them or hate them. I love them. This
one is a beautiful ruffled and recurved rose pink blend with a rose red
eye and striking green throat. Often produces polypetals blooms here.
SPILLED MILK £16.50
Dickerson '92 Dip 18"Mid SEv. 8"
Described as milky white but with a bit more lemon influence in this
country. The bloom is star shaped and the plant has attractive lime foliage.
STOPLIGHT £5.50
Childs '54 Dip 36" Mid/Late Dor 7"
Not quite a true spider of a star shaped form, bright red with a yellow
throat and a great plant for the hot bed.

STRAWBERRY CANDY £7.50
Stamile '90 Tet 26" Early/Mid SEv. 4.5"
What can I say about this plant which has not already been said? Still
the most traded plant in the States and deservedly so. A round red bright
strawberry pink with a rose red eyezone and matching picotee.

STRAWBERRY FIELDS FOREVER £17.50
Stamile '97 Tet 26" Early/Mid Ev. 4.5"
Another one which has been well publicised since it was introduced. The
colours are truly sensational and although it needs hot weather to perform
at its very best it is usually late enough here despite its description
to produce several pretty stunning blooms a year. For any one who has missed
all the hype, it is a soft medium pink with a strawberry rose eye matching
picotee with a small green throat. Marvellous.
SUGAR COOKIE £5.00
Apps '84 Dip 20" Mid Ev. 2.5"
Round ruffled cream, sometimes with a faint brown halo and lemon green
throat. A good bud builder.
AM 1989
SUNDAY GLOVES £5.00
Leb'/Rogers '85 Dip 26" Early/Mid Dor 5.5"
A ruffled narrow segmented near white bloom with a pale yellow throat.
Makes an excellent clump in the border and has a high bud count. Rebloomed
well this year.
TANGO NOTTURNO £9.00
Reinnerman'87 Dip 20" Mid Dor. 4"
Raised in Europe this is a delightful rounded rose red with a deeper
halo, a yellow throat and green heart with yellow filaments. Whenever I
saw it in 2003, (my first year for this), I was truly enchanted.
THREE DIAMONDS £7.50
Whately '86 Tet 27" Mid Dor 6"
There is a really good picture of this in the Munson book. It is a very
large good dark red with a very outstanding green throat. I love it!
TOM WISE £5.00
Joiner '80 Tet 29" Mid Dor. 7"
There is a great picture of a clump of this in the Petit/Peat book. Described
as a large red with yellow edge and yellow/green throat. The petals are
rather narrow and the overall effect is lovely.

TONIA GAY £4.00
Spalding '84 Dip 15" Early Ev. 5.5"
I love this one. Although an older variety the colour is beautiful and
the form very ruffled. It is a pale pink blend with white midribs, yellow
throat and green eye. It also reblooms for me most years.

TRAHLYTA £7.50
Childs '82 Dip 30" Early/Mid Dor 6.5"
Diana tells me that this is one of her all time favourites and there
is a great picture of it in her book, and it is probably a better advert
for the cultivar than any description. But here goes. It is a purple lavender
blend with a chevron shaped mauve eye over a vivid green throat. Excellent
garden plant and always commented upon.
TUXEDO £8.50
Carpenter '87 Tet 21" Early/Mid Dor 4.5"
A sunfast ruffled velvety dark black purple with an outstanding green
throat and yellow midribs. Also pictured in Diana's book. Sumptuous.
TWO FACES OF EVE £20.00
Pickles '00 Tet 28" Early/Mid SEv. 4.5"
This is another of the Pickles collection for 2000. A stunning round
and ruffled blend of peachy pink with a double edge of gold and mauve and
a speckled mauve band. Stunning and reliably repeats here. Sumptuous but
a good opener despite its heavy ruffling.
VARSITY £3.50
Hall '60 Dip 30" Early/Mid Dor 5"
This is a delightful old cultivar. The colour is a creamy peach with
a red halo and green throat.
VERA BIAGLOW £6.00
Moldovan '86 Tet 28" Mid/Late Dor 6"
Another good plant for later bloom and the colour is wonderful. Very
rounded and ruffled vivid rose pink with a yellow throat. Sometimes there
is a silvery edge. It is bright but beautiful.

WELFO WHITE DIAMOND £8.00
Kraut '97 Dip 34" Mid/Late SEv. 4"
A ruffled recurved diamond dusted near white with a lemon green throat.
German bred and therefore very hardy.
WILSON SPIDER £8.50
Oakes '87 Dip 28" Mid Dor 7.5"
Lavender purple near spider with a green throat. The winner of the Olsen
Spider Award in 1994. Another star of my purple bed where it floats around
above some of my darker purples and look great.
WIND SONG £4.00
Bryant '74 Dip 28" Mid SEv. 6"
A rounded creamy yellow self with quite a good fragrance. Despite its
age still one of my most asked for cultivars.
HM 1978, AM 1981.
WOOD DUCK £4.00
G'bach/Klehm '79 Tet 28" Mid Dor 5.5"
This is a pretty daylily of a rather triangular form,. It is a satin
textured medium pink blend with a greenish yellow eye.
YABBA DABBA DO £10.50
Hansen '93 Dip 30" Late SEv. 10"
I just love this and so does everyone who sees it. A spider variant of
great beauty. The colour is a violet purple with a large yellow/green throat.
Extremely floriferous and we had to cut many scapes in order to move the
clump in August. Winner of the Spider Variant Award in 1997. AM 2000. |
