It has a huge, flat-open spatulate base form, as seen in the illustration above and it is also a very variably consistent CRISPATA, which this particular shot doesn't reveal. It also has much more green in the throat than the illustration above. My only reservation was that it was yellow. After five years in the garden I realised that this heavily-branched green-yellow was the longest and latest blooming hemerocallis in my collection of nearly 1,200 cultivars! It twists and curls, pinches and quills to make a rather dynamic impression, especially when many flowers are open at once. Blooming right after LEMON STARFISH, it extends the season of sassy, exotic fragrant yellows right into Very Late. Blooming through August for us, it was accompanied up until mid August by SPIDER BREEDER, which is similar in colour. The name is for a deliciously sweet lemon liqueur served as a digestivo".
