VANESSA ARDEN (KING-LAMONE) |

A seedling selected from numerous GOLLIWOG X ASTERISK
crosses made in the 1990's to improve colour and spatulate forms, VANESSA
ARDEN was selected by Marc´s then 4 year-old daughter to carry her
name who proclaimed it the most beautiful daylily in their garden..
This delicate pure pale lavender (sometimes lavender
pink) Cockerel is a dormant, nocturnally-opening flower that is stunningly
clear in colour. Blooming on branched scapes at about 26 inches, the plants
seem to be pod sterile, but relatively pollen fertile. Set pods on small
plants but often rejected pollen once established. Moderate increase and
good bloom once established. Leaves are slender, upright to divergent, creating
a light, but not very dense leaf mound. Scapes are straight and emerge directly
out of the centre of the clump.
Completely unique as a flower and very easy to
grow, establishing quickly after transplanting and blooming the year after.
Increase, branching and bloom very good once established.
Few available for the FALL of 2004
double fans: £ 65.00
